Letters from the North
Brother André Goussaert, founder of the first co-op in the Far North, was instrumental in the economic and cultural development of the Inuit communities. Through his correspondence with author Paule Daveluy, this documentary retraces the life of the missionary, who worked in the remote areas of Nunavut from 1950 to 1970. It draws a portrait of the Far North, a region that has maintained its solidary and enterprising spirit despite the challenges that threaten to disrupt its fragile social and economic balance.
